Alex and Ray's wedding day may have been a little rainy towards the end, but it didn't dampen any part of the day. It was beautiful watching this family come together at the Strathallan Hotel in downtown Rochester for such a wonderful occasion! They chose their date intentionally - as it is also the anniversary of Alex's parents, and grandparents as well. Beautiful. We split up for a few minutes to visit both Alexandria and Ray as they were getting ready. The girls were already perfect and we captured the beautiful bride getting dressed, while as usual the guys tried to understand the directions on "how to fold a pocket square." I'll never understand why they don't just come pre-folded and ready to go for the gents...
We headed out to the George Eastman House for their first look and to get all of our important portraits completed before the ceremony. It was the perfect amount of cloudy goodness for some great photographs of not only our bride and groom, but the bridal party and family as well.
Back at the Strathallan, the rooftop ceremony was a touch windy for the unity candle, but it was the perfect view for the Thunderbirds to fly over head, from the weekend's Air Show in town! Talk about a grand entrance! The short and sweet ceremony was nothing but elegant, and so full of love between them.
Downstairs, the ballroom was draped in candlelight, sparkle and gorgeousness. The teal colors with touches of pink in the flowers, and candlelight everywhere made it feel even more elegant in the space. I just loved how it all came together beautifully. As the introductions began, the night kicked off and the name of the game became sweet and fun. Sweet - because from the gelato bar, to the macaroons and hand passed chocolates, my sweet tooth was itching! And fun, because frankly - it was!
What a great day for a great couple in love, and a family now complete. As it may have been my last wedding of the season (due to impending childbirth), it was the perfect end to my wedding season. Congratulations Alexandria and Ray on bringing your families together and on a long life full of love and happiness! ~ Erin
