We booked this wedding nearly two years ago, well before we became Lori & Erin Photography. I wish I could say that since then I've waited patiently for their day to arrive – but that would be a big, fat fib. I've mentioned my large, ever expanding family before right? Ben and Shelly are a part that fun filled, crazy, awesome group. As a teenager, I used to babysit Ben, his twin brother Blake, and their younger sister DawnMarie. I'm not going to lie, that was pure chaos.
But now Ben is now a handsome, wonderful man and a loving husband to his beautiful bride. We're so glad to officially welcome Shelly, who has until now been an unofficial part of the family for many years. I can't even begin to express how much it meant to me to not only witness, but capture this day of their lives with them.
I cry at weddings of couples I've met less than a year ago, so can you imagine me at a family wedding? Seriously, next time I'm buying stock in Kleenex. I'd have to use my fingers AND toes to count how many times throughout this day I teared up. As Shelly got dressed? Yes. During the first look? Uh huh. Ceremony? You betcha. But the part of the day that really set off the waterworks was during the parent dances. Shelly and her dad were adorable, and then Ben with his momma. Me = bawling.
The rustic decor, the atmosphere and the weather all worked perfectly at Timberlodge. Anytime you plan an outdoor November wedding ceremony in Upstate NY, you're taking chances. Thankfully, someone in Heaven was watching out for us. It was beautiful, warm, sunny, and not snowing! It made an already perfect day even better.
Ben and Shelly – I love your fun filled spirits and your love for each other. As you continue down this path together, never forget the way you feel today. My wish, is that you'll use these photographs to help you remember. Thank you for allowing me the honor of capturing it.
Love to you both always - Erin.
