I'm starting a little mini series of posts. I'll pick one of my favorite images, and share a little bit of why with you. For now, I'm calling it "Friday Favorites." I say "for now" because it may occasionally happen on a Wednesday. So I'm going to start with this image, taken at at wedding at the beautiful Welch Allyn Lodge in Skaneateles, NY.
It's a unique take on a very common, almost ignored, part of a wedding day - the introductions to the reception. The standard shot taken, is usually of just the couple entering the party. But we love to be able to show these types of things differently, and when we find a way to do so, it's so much fun to share it.
Ok sure, you don't see the bride and grooms faces - but just LOOK at the sea of happy guests, all there to celebrate this couple. These are the people that this bride and groom chose to begin their lives as a married couple with. They were all important enough to make the guest list right? So it's important to remember them too.
Thankfully, because there are two of us, one of us can always be on the hunt for these types of shots while the other captures the bride and groom's happy faces. To me, that's a win-win situation for everyone.
Stay tuned for the next favorite coming soon! ~ Erin
