When I first reached out to Megan about their wedding, both her, and her fiancee Stace were finishing up a deployment in Afghanistan. From that first email, I knew this wedding would be beautiful. Both soldiers, helicopter pilots, runners and lovers of the outdoors - Megan and Stace are so much fun to be around. I felt welcomed after only minutes together with them. They met months before their deployment at Fort Drum, and have only seen each other a few short times since. You can imagine how excited they were to not only be home, but to be able to be with each other again. For them, "happy" means - home, safe and sound together.
The short and sweet ceremony was touching, and included special wishes, from close friends who joined them for the occasion. It's always a privilege for me to share in those wishes with couples.
Then after some champagne and cake, they were whisked away on a wine tour in the Finger Lakes. I joined them at their first stop, Casa Larga Vineyeards, and was able to capture a few moments of them as newlyweds. Frozen was the word of the day, but we moved quickly, and got them inside for their tasting and on their way to a great afternoon together.
I'm so honored to be a part of the ceremonies at the Edward Harris House - each couple I meet is unique and wonderful. Thank you Megan and Stace for a great afternoon. Congratulations and best wishes on a life full of adventure together. ~ Erin
