Melissa and Mark: Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine Finger Lakes Wedding

The best word to describe Melissa and Mark's wedding day is "relaxed."

From the minute we found Melissa getting ready with their three kids, (all with important roles in the bridal party) we knew that no matter what, this day would be beautiful. You would think, that with three young kids to get dressed as well as herself that Melissa might have been a little tense. If she was, she never showed it. To me she was a calm, collected and beautiful bride all day long.

Their love of music and an Irish theme played a big role in the day. The Angelicus String Quartet, played for the ceremony - which included an Irish Blessing and a tradition known as hand fasting (tying the knot).

Then the Finger Lakes Bronze Bell Choir played songs like "My Wild Irish Rose" to start off the reception. The way the bells rang through the barn at Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine was perfect.

Other little traditional Irish touches for luck were seen throughout the day - like the claddagh ring, horseshoes, bells, and wildflowers. Each one carrying significance in Irish tradition.

So it's no wonder that both Melissa and Mark were relaxed and happy throughout the day. Even when the heat and humidity slowed us down. And even when torrential downpours interrupted the day. They had the luck of the Irish on their side.

They had already waited a long time for this day. But they knew that they could wait another thirty minutes for a storm to pass for the day to go on as planned perfectly.

Melissa and Mark - here's a little blessing from us to you as you begin your married lives together.

May God be with you and bless you
May you see your children's children
May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in blessings
May you know nothing but happiness
from this day forward.
