My Favorite Family Portrait: Allegany State Park

My favorite family portraits, aren't the ones with the perfect outfits, hair and makeup. To be completely honest, most likely these days I'm not wearing any makeup anyway.

And after a week in Allegany State Park those things became even more unnecessary. The smell of campfire became our perfume. And mud from our hikes and rock climbs replaced makeup and dirtied our clothes.

Yet I have one of my favorite family portraits. It's not posed perfectly. My son is taking off his shoes (one of his favorite activities these days). And we certainly didn't coordinate our clothes that morning. Heck, half of us were lucky we'd even showered. Makeup? Forget it.

I don't care, I still love the results.

Because my favorite family portrait is the one that shows we lived. And on this day, in this place, we lived life the best way that we possibly could - together.

Here's a few more favorites from our week:

Erin Perrotta

Erin’s creative background roots began with her family and her education in Digital Media/Fine Arts degree at Canisius College. While she enjoys a good adventure, Erin is most comfortable at home with family (husband, Matt and son, Lucas) or friends, a good book, and a cup of coffee.
