Part four of our promise series is about security. Lori and I take this very seriously. There's nothing more important to a wedding photographer than making sure everything is backed up... and I mean everything. We're secure, maybe even to the point of a slight OCD. To begin with, we consider ourselves back ups for each other. Unfortunately, we haven't figured out how to make clones of ourselves, but Lori can take on my role if needed, and I can just as easily fill her shoes...err flip flops rather.
After that, we have backup equipment. We never leave for a wedding without at least four professional grade camera bodies, (each with dual card slots for image backup right in camera) multiple lenses, and a variety of lighting options. We definitely come prepared.
Then, when we get home from a wedding, we don't call it a night until the images are backed up to a computer and back up hard drive. Some call it OCD...we call it safety. Your images typically exist in three or more locations, onsite, offsite and even online.
On top of all of that, we care about the images even when they've been delivered to our clients. We want you to enjoy them for years to come, and so we ask that you put them somewhere safe, make a duplicate copy on a hard drive, and print them. Why? Because technology is always changing. The disc or thumb drive we deliver to you is not going to last forever. For example, does anyone know where to buy VCR these days? They're still out there, but they're rare right? How about a cassette player? We want your grandchildren and great grandchildren to be able to see your wedding photographs. This is why we encourage our couples to invest in a quality, archival wedding album or book, or print their favorite photographs.
We know that nothing is 100% fail safe. However, Lori and I have done everything in our power to make sure that all of our work, and your precious memories are secure from creation to delivery.
Today's images are from the beginning of a wedding day, when you're busy prepping, dressing and getting pretty for the big event! Enjoy!
