Chelsea and Steve: Inn on the Lake, Canandaigua Wedding Photography

This wedding was brought to us by the word "relaxed."  From my very first conversation with Chelsea, I knew that what she wanted was a relaxed and fun, but still beautiful wedding day. She knew the reason for the day wasn't about the tiny details but it was about her and Steve, getting married and having all of the people they love together in one place for one day.

I truly believe that everything about their wedding was perfect. We had a perfect setting, on Canandaigua Lake for not only a relaxing atmosphere, but a beautiful one as well. There was never a rushed moment, as we perfectly planned amount of time for everything. And to top it off, Chelsea and Steve themselves, are perfect together.

They compliment each other perfectly. From the first look to the last dance, their smiles never once faded. They were just so excited to finally be married to each other. They took their time, and soaked in every last moment of the day. Their perfect day.

It was the kind of day that didn't feel like we were working. Rather, we felt like we'd become part of their family, and they'd become part of ours as well. I just love it when that happens.

So I guess maybe, the word of the day should have been "perfect" instead. Steve, Chelsea, thank you for taking us in and making us part of your family on your wedding day. Thank you for being yourselves with us, and for letting us be ourselves with you. We are so grateful for you and your love for each other. Here's to a lifetime of beautiful sunsets together! ~ Erin

An Open Letter to our Couples: Rochester NY Wedding Photography

As we conclude another amazing wedding season, I have to admit, I am a little sad.

It's an interesting thing being a wedding photographer. It is way more than just a job. It's an emotional investment in our clients. They become our family, and sometimes, we become theirs.

Before every wedding, we get to know our couple. Often times, we also get to know a parent or best friend that is helping with the planning as well. We learn about their love for each other, and the family and friends who will be celebrating with them and/or who will be standing by their side in the bridal party.

On the wedding day, we meet all of the people that are so special to our couples. We get to see the family love, and occasionally a touch of family drama. (Don't worry, everyone has some.) We capture both raw emotions and family portraits. We also photograph the little details that otherwise might go unnoticed, like Dad making sure that everyone's ties are straight.

By the end of the day, I know who is who, learned many new names and faces, and heard beautiful stories through out toasts and casual conversations with guests. I feel like I know my couple that much better, and now I know the people they love the most.

This past weekend, the groom's sister invited me to dance with her. A random friend complimented us, and as we left, the hugs we exchanged were so tight, I really felt like we were part of the family.

It was after that I realized, this wasn't the only time I have felt that. With every wedding, our family grows.  So when we call you "our couples", we really mean "our families". And with every wedding, I wish the same thing for the Bride and Groom - happiness, friendship, and love forever.

So to our couples, thank you for being part of our family, and for welcoming us into yours. We treasure you.

Kelly and Chris: Canandaigua Country Club Wedding Photography

It was a gorgeous Saturday on Canandaigua Lake. Perfect for a wedding.

The ladies looked gorgeous in my favorite shade of purple. I won't lie, I wanted one of their dresses for myself. The groomsmen definitely looked good too, but as is the rule Kelly stole the show with her gown and full length veil.

But not to be outdone, and just as adorable - their daughter Keira, looked so adorable in her little flower girl dress. She may not walk yet, but her procession down the aisle was cute and memorable for sure as she was helped by her grandma's. So stinking cute.

Kelly found a great less trafficked spot along the lakeshore for their formal photographs, it was perfect for this fun loving bridal party! After that stop we headed off to the Canandaigua Country Club to get the party started!

And as the sun set and night closed in, the party was no where close to slowing down. There were some serious dance floor moves going on!

It was an absolutely perfect day for Chris and Kelly to finally become husband and wife. From getting ready with the ladies at the hotel to the amazing sunset over the lake, it was a beautiful wedding.

We're so glad to have been there, and so happy for the newlyweds! Congrats Chris and Kelly! ~ Erin

Friday Favorite: Rochester NY Wedding Photographers

It might still be bitter cold outside, but the month of March, makes me think of Spring. This makes me think of green grass, summer time... and weddings! Today's favorite image is from one of our gorgeous, outdoor weddings of 2014. Oh, I can just feel that sun on my face all over again! It's unique, and a fun reflection of our bride and groom having a kiss with the party going on behind them. We're always on the lookout for something different, whether it's a portrait session or a wedding.

At this wedding, we found something different in the VW Beatle that the bride arrived in with her father. So not only was it unique, it was also meaningful, and that makes the image mean even more to me.

Ben & Brittney : Canandaigua NY Wedding Photography

The day they got married was also their anniversary. Wait, what? It's true, Brittney and Ben have been together for 11 years, and engaged for 2 years- both on the very same day in May. And now, their wedding anniversary falls on that very same date every year. I guess you could say they'll never have an excuse to forget their anniversary!

The day was gorgeous, a slight breeze with and a beautiful view at their home in Canandaigua. The ceremony and reception were both held overlooking a pretty pond on the property. It was nothing short of beautiful.

Some touching and fun moments came out of their short ceremony - including one during the ring exchange where the cute, little ring bearer proudly let everyone know what his job entailed. Their reception was casual, fun and pretty. Everything was what it should be for Ben and Brittney -complete with bonfire, dancing and a great sunset.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple, on a fantastic wedding day!  ~ Erin

Every now and again, we get the chance to catch up with some of our past wedding couples. It's even better when you get to catch up with two of them (from the same family) at one wedding! So before I go further, I have to thank their entire family for their continued trust in us. We've been honored to be the wedding photographers for all three siblings in Tommy's family. It really means a lot to us to have been a part of so many important moments in your family's life. Ok, let's get back to the story of the day. Cami looked like a supermodel in her wedding dress - just gorgeous. Oh –  and Tommy cleaned up well too! Both of them are just stunning.

It was warm, but thankfully, the predicted storms stayed away. Cami's selection of rustic decor looked perfect in Bristol Harbour's dining room. The ceremony overlooking Canandaigua Lake was full of love, and picture perfect. Dinner was delicious and the party following didn't disappoint either!
