Friday Fun: Workation in the 1000 Islands

So this is post #5 about our trip to the thousand islands region. I promise, it'll be the last one for a while! We showed off the 4 sessions we had while we were there, but then there is the rest of the trip. We R&Red, hiked, read, watched the sun set, played silly games, swam, and played tourists for a day. It was a fantastic workation (my new word for working-vacation), and every time I look at the pictures I start dreaming about the next trip. So enjoy, here is a sneak peek behind the scenes with Erin and I, our hubbies and of course, our puppies! hiking in the 1000 islands

We shared the week with my nephew Landon, who added unlimited smiles!

Molley waited at the end of the dock for John to come back from his kayaking adventure. I think she missed him.

Where is your favorite place to vacation? My husband and I haven't decided on our next trip yet. We're between Germany/Netherlands/Belgium, New Zealand, or a west coast trip of Seattle to San Fran. In the mean time, we're hitting up Boston and the river again for sure. Erin and I are making a short workation when we go down to Virginia in October, too.

Oh the places we will go...

Matt & Nicole's 1000 Islands Engagement Session

boldt castle engagement

To say that this was a fun engagement session, wouldn't do it justice. Once I got over the fact that I had to tell my brother-in-law to kiss his fiance that is... Matt & Nicole are planning their wedding for next 4th of July-- Nicole's favorite holiday. I'll be there, in a bridesmaids dress, trying not to get in the way. Since I won't be documenting that event, I'm glad I got to do this one! We went to Nicole's family camp up in the thousand islands region, a place the couple frequents in the summer months. We hit up Boldt Castle in Alexandria Bay our first day in town, avoiding the crowds of bikers that were also in town. We also got a nice sunset in at the docks by the camp.

Matt and Nicole rocked their session, and I have to say a special thank you for hosting us! We loved heading up to the river, and will go back anytime you want. :)

Nicole grew up spending her summers at their camp on the river. We were so glad to incorporate their view from the dock into the session, even their dogs, Winston and Jackie, got in on this one
