Rowan & Kevin : A Rochester Maternity Session

I am beyond excited for these two soon-to-be parents! Rowan and Kevin are expecting their first child in October - well, their first two legged child! :)

Kevin is a veterinarian, and we're all dog lovers, so of course we had to include the fur babies. Roxy and Kinsey enjoyed the walk around Linear Park and didn't seem to mind the camera. You'll be seeing more of this family, so stayed tuned to the blog. But for now, enjoy some of their baby bump photos!

Can't wait to meet the new addition!

Jameson, 6 Months New: Rochester Family Sessions

Jameson is 6 months old, he loves chewing on toys (especially Sophie the Giraffe), and bouncing around in his jumperoo. We also learned he loves the freedom of his birthday suit at this session.

Oh that face. It melts my heart. I mean really, just look at that grin, and those eyes. How can you resist?! He's such a cute little peanut. We can't wait to see him again in a few months! ~ Erin

Welcome Nora: Rochester NY Family Portraits

First - there was Molly, she's a sweet, funny and beautiful little girl. Now, we welcome her little sister, Nora! Molly is so cute with her, giving her the sweetest kisses, and "helping" Mommy and Daddy with feedings and diaper changes. It's pretty darn adorable. I spent a little bit of time with them, not only capturing Nora in this first tiny stage of life, but updating Molly's portraits too. We're so excited to welcome her into the family. She's the perfect cherry on top of an already awesome ice cream sundae. Enjoy the sibling sweetness, and congratulations to Molly and family! ~ Erin 2014-12-16_0003.jpg 2014-12-16_0005.jpg 2014-12-16_0002.jpg 2014-12-16_0004.jpg 2014-12-16_0006.jpg 2014-12-16_0001.jpg

Erin's 365 Project begins : Rochester NY photography

As Lori finished up her year in photographs on December 31st 2014, mine began. Only 334 days to go, I'm just getting started. I was inspired to see so many of my photographer friends complete their project last year, and decided it was the right time to begin mine. So I guess I should warn you of three things as I embark on this photographic journey.

1) The overwhelming majority of this project will focus on my son, my family and my dog. These are the most important things in my life, and this is a milestone year for us. Lucas is going to change so much, so fast, and we're all going to change with him. So naturally, this is my inspiration for this endeavor. If you don't want to see cute pictures of babies or my dog, don't look.  :)

2) I'm not burdening myself with any rules. It's hard enough to complete a 365 project without adding rules in. Besides that I know me, I'll miss a day or two. Some days I'll use my iPhone instead of my DSLR. Some days might include an Instagram filter. Or, some might include two images. Again - it's my project, my rules, right?

3) Some of my images are probably going to be boring. I'm not sure that this can be avoided, but you can bet there will be a few days where nothing exciting happens. Not every day of a year is photographic gold.

So here we go folks, my 365 project begins. I'll need your help and encouragement to keep going. I know from watching others do it, that it's a big undertaking. I'm proud of myself for trying, and so far succeeding.

This month focused on Lucas, a fun family wedding in Chicago, and other random goodies. January is complete, bring it on February. Only 334 days to go.

In no particular order, here's January! ~ Erin

Jameson: Rochester NY Newborn Session

When we last saw them, Janel and Kevin were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little man. We took their last portraits as a family of two, and as we did I learned a secret. They shared with us their little guy's name via sign. It was adorable. I know it kept a lot of their friends in suspense too. Well, here it is - the big name reveal. :) 2014-11-05_0001.jpgIf you haven't already met him, meet Jameson John. He's a 7 lb cutie, with the best little face and was absolutely perfect for us during his newborn session. With my own little guy growing so fast, it was a reminder of how small they start out!

Kevin and Janel, I have loved watching your journey from engaged to married to now parenthood. There's no doubt in my mind that you'll be amazing parents, as you already are! Congratulations - I look foward to continuing to capture this chapter in your lives for you. ~ Erin

Fall 6 month session: Corbett's Glen, Rochester NY Portraits

Oh man, I am so glad to be back behind my camera again. As much as it's been exciting to bond with my own little guy, it's great to back capturing the smiles of our favorite families. I came back just in time to catch up with one of our newest members of the L&E crew at her 6 month session. It's part of her first year plan, and I can't believe how much she's grown since her newborn session. I'm so glad I was able to be here for this milestone! We took a short walk in Corbett's Glen, where this cutie was full of curiosity for the leaves and nature. She was so focused on the world around her, we had to work hard to catch a few smiles from her. But it was all well worth it. See what I mean?

Janel + Kevin + Baby to Be: Rochester NY Maternity Session

I really can't believe it's been four years since I photographed Janel and Kevin's beautiful wedding day. They are another one of our couples who hold a super special place in our heart for their constant support as our business has grown. It was fun to talk "baby" together as we photographed their maternity session at the George Eastman House last month. I can't wait to share and compare stories with them as we capture the first year of their little man's life!

Janel, and Kevin - it's been an honor and a privelege to know you, and now to be a part of documenting your growing family. Thank you!! Rest up now (believe me, you'll miss it), and get ready to welcome your bundle of joy into the family. I'm sooooo happy for you, and can't wait to meet him! ~ Erin

beautiful baby jayden: rochester ny newborn photography

Less than a week old, and he's already growing too fast. We've been looking forward to his birth for awhile now. Back in the fall, we photographed their announcement, - so finally he's here!  And now that he is, we all want to slow down time and keep him this small forever. I went to photograph his first session of his first year plan, and probably spent a bit more time snuggling him than I meant to. But I couldn't help it, he's just so cute and cuddly! I'm so happy for his mommy, daddy and big brother, and am excited to watch him grow up. Hopefully though, not too fast.

Babies, babies everywhere! : rochester ny baby shower

A few months ago, I shared a special announcement about my dear friend Sarah's upcoming addition to their family. It's so special to me to be a part of her and her family's life. Well, that bundle of joy is due to arrive within the next two months. It was time for the baby shower to commence! I am by no means a DIY, crafty kind of girl, but Sarah and her family - they most definitely are. And wow, they sure know how to plan a themed shower!

Sarah has a love for being on the water. Out on the boat, is one of the places she's always made her happy. So, in true Sarah style, she requested a nautical theme to her baby shower. But there's a twist to that theme...Sarah and Mike, are waiting to be surprised by the baby's gender! Thus some pink had to be added to the blue nautical waters on display. The results were adorable, from the crab croissant sandwiches to the anchored centerpieces.

One of the highlights for me, was reconnecting with another great friend from my younger days...who coincidentally is also pregnant! What a year for the three of us, getting to experience this journey together. It's exciting, and if nothing else, we can commiserate together as our feet slowly disappear from our view this summer. I can't wait to meet these new additions, and hopefully watch them grow up together as we did.

The day went great, the weather was perfect and Baby Scorse was showered with everything from diapers to his or her own fireside camp chair. I can't wait to meet Sarah's newest addition, and capture their first days at home with Mom, Dad and Brother. Here's to a safe delivery, and healthy baby!

a cute spring arrival: rochester ny newborn session

She's tiny, cute and perfect. She's also the newest adventure in Natalie and Dan's life. What an honor and joy it was to get to meet her last week, in her first few days at home. Thanks to Rochester's weather, in her short time here so far she's already seen 3 different seasons...spring, summer and winter. She's also been on a few hikes and has been showered with love from friends and family alike. It's always exciting for us when we get the opportunity to meet a new addition to the family of one of our wedding couples. We love reconnecting with you, and capturing that next stage in your family's history. For us, it doesn't get much better than that.

Welcome to the world little one! Your mom and dad are so happy you're here, and we can't wait to watch you grow into a beautiful, sweet little girl!

Morgan at 4 months : Rochester NY Baby Plan Photography

This is part two with Morgan as we join her on the first year plan. We were shooting at home again, as with the first session. We got to play in lots of outfits,  hang with our favorite stuffed animals and make the most of tummy time. She is not a fan of being on her tummy, but we were able to make some cute images very quickly to show off how she can hold her head up now! I love the black and whites and snuggle time the most from this session. Oh, and that little blue bow? How could you resist?! Enjoy! sleeping baby with stuffed animalssweet dreamsbaby girl laugh

Baby's first year album, featuring Clara

The first year of life is full of growth, discovery and love. Lots and lots of love! It is our honor and pleasure to capture all of those special moments, especially in this case. If you have followed the blog for any period of time, you have no doubt seen Clara before. I am now delighted to show off her first year album!

first year album cover

This project was a labor of love, and would not have been possible without my sister-in-law's help and input. I had a vision for how this book would look, but Kerry made it possible by providing the details and memories to enhance the photography.

first year album details

By working together, we have created a time capsule of Clara's favorite things and how they changed, fun facts from every stage of development, and a beautiful letter from her parents. Can you imagine having one of these of your own first year? Today, this is a gift for mom and dad. In time, it will become a treasured possession for little Clara herself.

Take a look inside, and witness the development of Clara from womb to infant to toddler. Isn't life amazing?

This is a brand new product that is now available as part of our first year plan. We'd love to make one for you next!

Best, Lori
