New Little Brothers: Family Portraits Fairport NY

Little brothers are the best. For this particular big brother, they make the perfect roadway for a hot wheels car, and also for some occasional adorable kisses.

Going from one child to two is kind of a big deal. There's all sorts of ups and downs involved that change your whole world in an instant. Welcoming this little man into the family means longer days, and definitely longer nights. But they're doing it together, with lots of going with the flow and lots of laughter.

Packers fans through and through (much to Lori's delight) they sported their jerseys with Cheesehead pride. And when big brother didn't want to be part of the pictures, he played - karate chopping bubbles and swinging in Daddy's arms. And as always, they went with it. Because what else can you do?

In the end when laying in bed with both of your babies in your arms is what you need to do - you go with it. Even if you are exhausted, enjoy every second of it. Because all too soon, this time of your lives shall also pass - with or without nap time.

When it does, we hope these photos will happily remind you of these early days as a family of four (plus dog).

And Baby Girl Makes 5: Family portraits in Hilton NY

There's one thing I know - this little girl will be fiercely protected. Nothing's getting past two big brothers, and her Daddy as she grows up. But if I know anything else, I know that this little girl will blend right in. She won't be afraid to get her hands full of mud.

I visited with them twice to capture her cuteness. Once at home with just her Mommy and "little" big brother. Then again with the rest of the family.

She's the perfect addition to one of my favorite families in the whole world. Welcome sweet girl, we can't wait to watch you grow...but if it's all the same to you, please, take your time.

Maternity Portraits in Hilton NY

I had a grand total of five minutes to capture a few maternity portraits of these two. Why? Because we had to sneak out the back door of their shower to do it!

We were a little silly and had to move fast (because it was FREEZING out), but I could easily feel the love for their tiny miracle show through.

Full disclosure (if you didn't know already) - these two are my family. So I seriously can't WAIT to meet this new, sweet addition. She's already loved so much, by so many people.

But no one on Earth will love her more than these two already do.

Baby W and Family: Lifestyle Newborn Sessions

A newborn session can be tricky. Sometimes the new bundle of joy isn't sleepy, or is in the middle of a growth spurt and wants to do nothing but eat, eat eat.

This one week old little munchkin fit this description perfectly. But truth be told, this is real life with a newborn baby. It's most definitely not all sleepy baby poses, placed in baskets and props.

And we're here to tell you that's ok.

We've tried that form of newborn session, and while they are ridiculously adorable, we actually prefer showing you the beauty in your real life. We want to capture the way you look at him through tired, but beaming eyes full of love. Or the way you as new parents, look at each other.

So even though he didn't give us much time as a sleepy baby, he did give us a chance to capture this family's love for him as they kept him cuddled close.

Congratulations Meghan and Ian on your beautiful baby boy!!

One Week New: Fairport NY Portrait Photography

Witnessing our wedding couples start their families is by far one of the best parts of this job. There's no better times to be a part of a family's life - the day they get married, and when they become a family of three.

This little one is only one week old and already the brightest star in Gail and Greg's sky. I could feel their happiness to be parents from the moment we arrived. Every time they looked down at her tiny little face, their own faces lit up with love.

It's hard to believe such a small bundle can change your world so completely. Greg and Gail, congratulations on your perfectly sleepy little lady! We can't wait to capture her as she grows!

Welcoming Baby A: Webster NY Newborn Session

This little munchkin is the newest member of our membership program. She's less than a month old, but already has her parents wrapped around her sweet little fingers. It's amazing how fast those first few weeks of life go.

While we were at their home in Webster, NY for their newborn session she was perfectly content but not necessarily ready to sleep the afternoon away. So, we took advantage of as many of the sleepy moments that we could but also let her be alert and awake when she wanted.

And since it was clear, she didn't want to sleep we also took time to just let her cuddle in their arms where she felt most warm, safe and loved.

In the end, isn't that where we all really want to be?

Newborns at Home: Family Portraits in Rochester NY

It's been five years, but I still remember tearing up during their wedding ceremony at Casa Larga Vineyards. It was one of the most fun, and most heartfelt wedding days I've ever been a witness to.

So to see them now as parents to their beautiful two week old baby just melts my heart. The love they share just oozes out of everywhere. Seriously, this family is that adorable.

I loved watching them cuddle close together, beaming at their tiny little man. They know that all too soon that little cutie is going to start wiggling out of their lap. So today, they're cherishing each chance, and it's beautiful.

Two Weeks New: Rochester Newborn Photography

Little Theo made a slightly early debut, which sometimes happens as babies are always unpredictable. But he is so cute, and so cuddly that I don't think anyone minds one bit. We are so so so excited that he's here, and adding some new feet to Mommy and Daddy's crew of two pups and a cat (who avoided us and the cameras on our visit).

From his little yawns, to little cries he's already got us wrapped around his little fingers. We are excited to watch him grow and change into one of the cutest kids we know.

Congratulations, Rowan, Kevin, Roxy, Kinsey and Pippa on your newest little addition. And welcome to the world Theo!

Introducing Lauren: Rochester NY newborn photography

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I truly love our clients. But really, they're not clients anymore. After five years, an engagement, wedding, and two children with multiple family sessions in between - they are friends, amazing ones at that. So photographing baby Lauren with her big sister Katie was a joy. We got to capture just a glimpse of them forming their early bonds as sisters. And I got to catch up with their amazing mommy as well.

I'll never cease to be grateful for the trust that this family gives us, and for continuing to allow us to be a part of their lives as more than just their photographers.

With that, I'm honored to introduce, and welcome Lauren to the world. ~ Erin

365 project in March : Rochester NY Photographer

I love compiling my images from each month for these posts. I get to see just how many things happened each month and how many great people are a part of my life. I also get to see just how much Lucas changes in just a few weeks. That alone makes me so glad I decided to take on a 365 project this year. I can't imagine not having these images to remember all of his milestones. Family, friends and fun was what March was all about. With Spring creeping in at a snail's pace, we were lucky to get outside a few times. We are also starting to see more sessions pop up on the calendar with our favorite clients. We even got away for a conference in Buffalo, where we got to learn new things to incorporate into the business and our shooting style.

So far so good, I'm still going strong. With our busiest months of the year yet to come, I'm looking forward to more friends and more fun images to share as a part of this project. 3 months down, 9 to go! ~ Erin

Welcome Nora: Rochester NY Family Portraits

First - there was Molly, she's a sweet, funny and beautiful little girl. Now, we welcome her little sister, Nora! Molly is so cute with her, giving her the sweetest kisses, and "helping" Mommy and Daddy with feedings and diaper changes. It's pretty darn adorable. I spent a little bit of time with them, not only capturing Nora in this first tiny stage of life, but updating Molly's portraits too. We're so excited to welcome her into the family. She's the perfect cherry on top of an already awesome ice cream sundae. Enjoy the sibling sweetness, and congratulations to Molly and family! ~ Erin 2014-12-16_0003.jpg 2014-12-16_0005.jpg 2014-12-16_0002.jpg 2014-12-16_0004.jpg 2014-12-16_0006.jpg 2014-12-16_0001.jpg

Jameson: Rochester NY Newborn Session

When we last saw them, Janel and Kevin were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little man. We took their last portraits as a family of two, and as we did I learned a secret. They shared with us their little guy's name via sign. It was adorable. I know it kept a lot of their friends in suspense too. Well, here it is - the big name reveal. :) 2014-11-05_0001.jpgIf you haven't already met him, meet Jameson John. He's a 7 lb cutie, with the best little face and was absolutely perfect for us during his newborn session. With my own little guy growing so fast, it was a reminder of how small they start out!

Kevin and Janel, I have loved watching your journey from engaged to married to now parenthood. There's no doubt in my mind that you'll be amazing parents, as you already are! Congratulations - I look foward to continuing to capture this chapter in your lives for you. ~ Erin
