Wedding Advice for Brides from Brides: Rochester NY Wedding Photographers

Wedding planning can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. There's a lot to do, yes, but remember, it's always about you, your fiancé, and the love between you. Cake toppers, flowers, and all of the other little details, while important are not why you're getting married.

We asked our couples if they'd be willing to share some advice for the newly engaged. So I'll hop right in, and share a few tidbits of information from Jessica and Keith Bush. Their Syracuse wedding at the Welch Allyn Lodge was beautiful, emotion filled, and so much fun. Here's what they had to say:

1) Don’t get side-tracked by other people’s expectations
This will always be your day. Don’t get side-tracked by weddings in bridal magazines, pins on Pinterest, or other people’s opinions and expectations. Many people may have opinions about how you should have your wedding, but do not let it depict from your wishes, dreams, goals, and expectations. Make your day what you want it to be as a couple, without the pressures of society. Focus on what’s important to you both to ensure your wedding is a day filled with wonderful memories and one you’ll never forget.

2) Hire an amazing photographer and videographer
Hiring Lori and Erin Photography was one of the best decisions we made. They are both are truly masters of their crafts. While photography is expensive, you can’t put a price on memories that will last a lifetime. I would advise every couple to make sure that they spend as much as they possibly can on their photos and video. Before you know it, the day will be over and you will realize that you missed so much. But don’t worry, because if you’re photographers and videographer are truly exceptional, they will capture those “unseen moments” for you. When you’re celebrating your 10th, 20th, even 50th anniversary, you will still have those photos, albums, and video to relive that day over and over again!

So, I swear we didn't pay her to say that. We love you Jess, thank you! ~ Erin
