In Lori’s words (she/her)

A little more about me…

As the daughter of filmmakers, I may have been predestined for a life in the creative world. I even met my husband while studying photography at Rochester Institute of Technology! RIT will always feel like home to me. I have such great memories of my time there.

But, I did this whole photography thing backwards. Rather than having a kid before deciding to learn how to use a camera (like some photographers do), I started with the camera, then had the kid ten years later. Obviously, he became my favorite subject very quickly, dethroning the dogs and his eleven cousins.

After a decade in the suburbs, we recently moved to the “country” (fear not, we’re still only 7 minutes from the nearest Wegmans). I love spending time in the yard with my son, dogs and chickens. I call it “Knot Quite a Farm” because we grow a little of everything, but not enough of anything. I love learning about sustainability, permaculture and homesteading. It’s a great hobby, and provides us with food!

All of my favorite activities are outdoors: hiking, biking, napping, and reading in the hammock. If my favorite people are there, I am too. Writing is another creative outlet for me, but photography is still what I do best!
