Ana wanted a natural setting for her senior photos, and she was not afraid to get wet! We went to Corbetts Glen, and then to the Thomas Creek Wetland area in the Village of Fairport. We braved the mosquitos and the bees, and got some really nice, elegant shots for Ana. Check out a few of my favorites below!

I first photographed Dan about three years ago in a family portrait. In just that short amount of time, he has grown and matured into a wonderful young man. Dan is athletic, but well-rounded; motivated, sincere and a joy to be around. We share the joys of vegetable gardening and playing with our dogs. For his senior session, we went to the Victor High School. We started on the soccer field for some action shots, then walked around to the main entrance and ended up on the track for this fierce shot. Dan is one of the few on his team to still run hurdles.
Special thanks to my lovely assistants this morning, Betty and Jake for making this session even more fun!

Delaney is a little bit shy, into writing and reading, and loves the outdoors. Naturally, we encouraged all of those activities when we were setting up her senior portrait experience, even the shy part. For her senior session, we went to Linear Park in Penfield and found the perfect out-of-the-way spots to let her be her. The shoot was simple and smooth, and she did much better than she gives herself credit for. Delaney was a pleasure to work with and we love the results! Here's our favorites!

Leo's senior portrait session was unlike one we've ever photographed before. I'm seriously excited to show you these images, and the fusion video we created to go with it!
Leo is a fun, outgoing senior from the class of 2015 at Penfield High School. When we talked about all of the things he wanted to incorporate into this session, the ideas just started flowing! He's really into cars, and has a super terrific uncle who let us borrow this beauty of a classic car for the day.

I just LOVE some of the images that came out of it, and Leo looks like that car suits him well!
Leo also enjoys his guitar, snowboarding and fishing in his free time, so it was fun to incorporate all of those into his session as well.

So we may be a month late with this post and for that we apologize! We couldn't let another day go by without congratulating our 2014 high school seniors. We were so honored that you chose us to photograph your senior sessions. We had so much fun working with each and every one of you. Each session was different in it's own way, based on all of the activities and hobbies you enjoy - which made our job even more fun! We wish the Class of 2014 all the best on their future endeavors. Our first senior from the Class of 2015, and we couldn't be off to a better start! Emily was a joy to work with and we had a blast at Highland Park! Emily is going to be a senior at Fairport High School and describes herself as casual, opinionated, fun and supportive. She is part of a leadership group which I think is fantastic. "I work with students and we do things for the community and encourage kids to be drug free." Beautiful on the inside and out, love it. She is also into fashion, and I have to say, I think she liked modeling!

Hey there, it's Lori. Guess what I just realized? It's been ten years since I made my first high school senior portrait. Sam reminded me of this fact when she volunteered to help me with my 365 project earlier this month. Wow, ten years ago... I had just finished high school myself when Sam asked if I would make her portraits. We had so much fun in my backyard, using my moms gardens as our backdrop. I had to dig to find these images, but thought it would be fun to share a little then and now.
The funny thing is, everyone has said the same thing after seeing these two images: She looks exactly the same, yet so different. Well Sam, let's make an appointment for 2024 and make this a tradition. :)

This was another Christmas gift session! Nikki's boyfriend is in the service and she thought a portrait of her would be the perfect gift for Christmas this year. The final product had to be something small that he could take with him, so we ended up making an accordion mini book for him. They are both outdoorsy, enjoying hunting and hiking. (Hard to picture Nikki with a gun!) We photographed Nikki at Corbett's Glen Park in the late fall. It was definitely chilly, but we braved the cold, and had a great time!

If you want to feel like an under achiever, you should read Nate's resume. Seriously, between sports, school activities and being an eagle scout, I'm not sure how he balances it all. Nate loves the outdoors, hiking and being adventurous. When I asked him to climb in to the overgrown brush just off the trail, he didn't even flinch. It turned out to be one of my favorite shots. We also went over to the baseball field and had Nate put on his football jersey. Yup, you read that right! Haha. Nate's eagle scout project was creating cubbies and bat racks at the little league fields, so it made sense to incorporate those as well.

Trying to get that intimidating look was hard work, and there was some serious laughter going on in between takes. Sometimes those are the best moments. Nate was awesome to work with, I hope he had as much fun at this session as we did!

The moment I met Kate, I was transported back to my high school days. As she described to me what clubs she was in and what sports she plays, I started reminiscing about my own. We had so much in common, even down to the music-- yes I'll admit, I know the words to far too many Weird Al songs. She is even considering attending my alma mater, RIT, for film and animation. In the time we shared together, I found it so easy to talk to Kate. That must have been a big help to her in winning the election for Senior Class President, along with her message of "Let's just all be friends." I think that is such a great message for all parts of life, not just high school. Kate didn't want to focus on all of her activities for her portraits, so instead we focused on her and just had fun around the house. Here are a few of my favorites from her session.

Naomi has a love of nature, horses and all kinds of music. She was a lot of fun to work with, and willing to try anything! I'm also pretty sure she set the record for most outfit changes in one session! I love the fearless attitude Naomi portrayed, her sweet smile and that beach ready hair!
