Some moments behind the camera feel like magic. This week, I had one of those full-circle experiences as a high school senior photographer in Victor, NY—and I just had to share it.
Back in 2009, I photographed my very first portrait session as a professional photographer. That sweet little girl in the pink dress sitting in the grass? She was my niece—and the very first person to trust me with capturing a memory that mattered.
Fast forward 15 years, and that baby in the grass is now a stunning high school senior, preparing to graduate from Victor High School. We met up this week to take her senior portraits, and—without planning it—she showed up in another pink dress. As we walked through her chosen location, we were surrounded by blooming purple flowers, just like we were all those years ago.
Same girl. Same love. Same beautiful color palette. Just a whole lot of growth, memories, and life in between.
As a senior portrait photographer, I often talk to families about how meaningful this milestone can be. These sessions aren't just about getting a few good pictures for the yearbook or graduation announcements—they're about capturing this transitional moment in time. The last summer before college.
