Holiday Family Pictures in Rochester

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of taking family pictures for this crew on a few occasions. When they came home for the holidays this past year, they were ready to update the extended family portrait.

Family Pictures with the Whole Family: Brighton NY Family Portraits

I have photographed every single person in this set of family pictures on more than one occasion. Whether at a wedding, newborn session or previous family portrait.

And on a lot of those occasions, we’ve had to adapt to whatever the changing conditions might be. Family pictures in the fall are beautiful. However, the weather is always unpredictable. For this family portrait, the rainy fall weather had us scrambling to find location options that would work for a family 9.

We settled on an in home family portrait, with the possibility of stepping outside in between rain showers if we could. Even the littlest was able to roll with the changes as we kept an eye on the conditions outside.

Despite the ever changing plans, I’d say that the smiles in these family pictures turned out perfectly.

Extended Family Pictures in Honeoye NY

They come together from out of state as often as they’re able to, but this time around they wanted to update the family portrait. The garden at their home in Honeoye was the perfect summer portrait setting.

And then after the formalities were achieved, the kids hit the trampoline - where a few summer fun cousin pictures took place.

Play is always a part of a good family portrait session with kids! It gives you a glimpse of who they are when they’re not paying attention to the camera.

And it also keeps them smiling! So if play happens at your next family session, let it!

Their goal when booking this extended family session was to have one picture of the entire family together, having a good time with each other.

They went back and forth a little bit on where they’d want to take their pictures, but in the end the decision was easy. For them, a perfect Saturday includes time at the lake house, good food, good books to read and time with family.

All 3 families together at the lake house for family pictures it was. And it was as picturesque a setting as any for a morning family session. Together, no matter where it is, is a great place to be.

60 years of marriage is a huge accomplishment. We were happy to help this family celebrate by updating their family picture!

Extended family pictures are so important. Families have such busy lives, and millions of places to be every week, so having everyone in one place, at one time is basically a miracle.

So when that miracle happens - you not only celebrate it, you capture it. You print it, and you frame that family picture for generations to come.

Just like this amazing family did.

How many people update their extended family photo regularly? Were your now grown children, babies then? Has it been years?

One of the things that make us happy is when families like these come back to us again and again to update their family portrait. We get to update their growth and their changes as they move through life together.

Last time I saw this group, Emerson was Preston’s age, and Preston didn’t exist! My how time flies. It was so wonderful to catch up with everyone again, this time enjoying the warmth and greenery of the conservatory while it snowed outside.

The boys are definitely the stars of this show, and it’s obvious they love their parents and grandparents. I know these photos will be treasured now, and as they grow older.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy this winter holiday celebration of three generations!

Oh where do I start with this gang? It’s been four years since I saw them last— at Rebecca and Dan’s wedding. We had a blast then, and we had a blast again now!

So much has happened in 4 years. The addition of Samantha, some hardships overcome, and a special birthday to celebrate. And check out this 1906 Ford Model A Roadster, with matching pint size version for the littlest member of the family.

It couldn’t have been a better day, with those perfect fall leaves, a brand new puppy to love on and the amazing people I got to spend the day with. Okay, it could have been a few degrees warmer maybe, if we had to be picky.

I wouldn’t trade this for the world. We’re so grateful to be in your lives and documenting these days for you. Love to you all!
