Personal Brand Photography in Pittsford NY: Fairport NY photographers

Since our last personal brand photography session with Dr. Heather Hirsch, she’s been a very busy woman! It’s exciting not only see how she’s using her brand photographs, but also how much her exposure has grown.

Because of these many media outlets and how busy she’s gotten, Heather was in need of new branding pictures for use on social media after just six months.

(Side Note: If you’re business requires you to be posting new content on social media feeds regularly, you’ll want regular brand photo updates too!)

Check out all of the media attention she’s gotten! We’re already planning for the next round of updated photographs for her personal brand.

We’re so excited for you, Heather!

Branding Photography for Rochester NY Therapists

Voice Therapist, Gerriann Jackson of VoiceOver Speech Pathology, came to us excited about her new website. We learned that she’s colleagues with Caroline Murrah, who happens to be another brand photography client of ours! (Check out Caroline’s blog post here.)

Gerriann wanted to portray herself as a warm, inviting person, with a variety of interesting hobbies (like taking drum lessons) and a love of her family.

She used these portraits on her website and social media pages for people to learn more about who she is.

What’s great about personal brand photography is that no two sessions are ever the same. Even if our subject is in a similar field. The reason here is obvious - it’s personal!

Here's how she used her branding photographs:

3 Reasons to Update your Branding Pictures: Fairport NY Photographers

This is Kristi’s second branding mini session this year. We photographed her last at our brand sessions at Do or Dye, back in March. She’s still using those branding pictures, so why would you want to have another round of portraits taken in the same year? Feels like a lot, right?

After all, you just had “new” business headshots taken 2 years ago.

Here’s 3 reasons to update your branding pictures a little more often.

  • Your website feels stale.

    • When was the last time you checked to make sure your website was working for you? Is your bio outdated? Would some fresh pictures change everything?

  • Seasons change.

    • Are you planning to post happy summer pictures to your feeds all winter long? Timely pictures will help.

  • Leveling up.

    • Kristi mentioned she was planning to aim for a different type of client. She’s growing and evolving, and she wants her pictures to reflect that going forward. Has your business leveled up since your last set of branding pictures were taken.

We’re not saying you have to sign up for a branding mini session every time - unless you love consistently fresh content! But if you’re looking at a portrait on your website from 2019, it might be time to think about an update. And if so, our branding sessions might be perfect for your needs.

Brand Photography for Florists: Rochester NY Branding Pictures

Jamie’s goal at Creative Gardens is to help everyone be surrounded by color, because it makes their lives a little bit brighter, more cheerful and welcoming. She wants to bring inspirational beauty to the world through her gardening.

She could just post branded pictures of her container gardens or wedding designs to her social media feeds. But Jamie knew it was time to elevate her look with a personal branding photo session. She already works with some higher end country clubs and residential homes, so it was time to show up that way in her business, all year long.

So far, we’ve created branding pictures in Rochester, working at her hotel and country club sites, and on a wedding design at Fig Holllow Barn.

We can’t wait to see what else we’ll get to photograph for her brand as the year goes on!

Branding Headshots in Fairport NY: Rochester NY Photography

A retired FBI agent and a yoga instructor walk into the same studio…

…and BOTH get updated branding headshots that reflect their business.

Listen, I know I need to work on my material, but I’m a branding photographer, not a comedian. The fact remains, that even in a 15 minute branding portrait mini session we could create two different looks for totally different businesses.

We are so thankful to Ali at Yoga 170 for sharing her amazing space with us, giving us the opportunity to bring these brand photographs to life.

Branding Photography in Rochester NY: Kc Rossi

Kc Rossi loves to help women breakthrough and bring all of themselves to their lives, and the world. Her words. I can tell you that just from the few hours we spent together - she’s good at it.

She wanted her brand photography to portray a confident, powerful feeling - but also photography that shows peace and warmth. So we captured her professional nature at work, and her natural environment as well.

Doing this included both her polished style, and attention to detail but also the cozy feeling of her working from home, and even the deer in her amazing forest backyard.

This set of brand photographs will give her options for ideas to communicate on social media, her podcast headers and her website.

If you’re looking for a mindset coach to help you grow, we suggest you meet Kc!

How to Repurpose Branding Images Across Your Marketing

You’re a small business owner / entrepreneur. You have a great idea, and you want to get it into the minds of your audience.

So you write something for Facebook and hit post. Then you wait… but all you hear are crickets. What else can you do?

Here’s five ways to repurpose your idea while using your personal brand photographs across your marketing.

1) Blog

Whether you like it or not, blogging is a great tool in your marketing tool box. It can improve your position on Google while you share about what it’s like to work with you. The brand pictures you use in blogs should compliment you as a professional.

2) Share on Instagram / Facebook

Now, take that blog post and break it down into easy to follow social media posts. Link back to your website and use your photos to elevate your perceived value. Posts that include an attention grabbing photograph are always more likely to get noticed. Create several to share your content on social in different ways, because one post alone isn’t enough to get your message out. This is also why having an accessible variety of branding images matters.

3) Pin to Pinterest

Same information, but now create a graphic to go with your “3 Reasons You Need XYZ” blog post, and pin it! There are many ways to create valuable Pinterest content using your brand photographs.

4) E-mail Marketing

Do you have an email list you’re not utilizing? Never know what to write in your newsletter? Are your phone pictures cutting it? Level up your newsletter with your both content and photographs. These people chose to follow you in their inbox, so engage with them!

5) Printed Materials

Create a product catalog, or brochure that you can leave behind with current clients. Share a tip with them that keeps them coming back for more. Professional images will never not be useful on a printed brochure.

Getting your message out takes time and more than one marketing tool. The beauty of personal branding is that you can use this set of professional images anywhere across these platforms. Check out 8 Ways to Use Your Branding Images for some other ideas.

Because unless you have mass amounts of social media followers, there’s no button that magically brings people to your doorstep. Use the tools (and photographs) you have.

Our Fairport NY Headshots and Personal Branding Session: Behind the Scenes

Yes, we are photographers, so you might be thinking, why didn’t you take your headshots and branding pictures yourselves? The main reason is that it’s pretty hard to get us both in photographs together. But there are other perks to hiring someone from outside your circle.

We choose to work with Sarah Heppell Photography out of Syracuse. Along the way, we discovered some unexpected benefits of working with Sarah and her team.

  1. Outside Perspective on our Business. As much as we love, and are good at, helping others create a plan for their business headshots and branding sessions, we struggled with planning our own. Even though we have a strong social media presence and regularly have new photos to post (granted, more of clients than of ourselves), we had trouble focusing in on what would help people connect to us. Going through this process helped draw that out of us in a way that hasn’t been done before.

  2. Efficiency. We think of great shots all the time, but shooting them one at a time would be an inefficient use of time. By brainstorming several locations and themes in advance, we captured them all in one day, and now have several months worth of content to share. It was more work upfront and requires planning, but worth it to have so much ready to go, especially during the busy summer season!

  3. Fresh eyes. We stare at the walls of our offices all day long, so it can be hard to see them in a new way. Fresh eyes from someone who hasn’t seen them, we knew Sarah would see things in a different way.

These are all the things we offer our clients, and Sarah was able to offer them to us. So pop on over to Instagram to see how we are using these photos, and if it gets your idea factory running, give us a call or check out how we can do the same for you!
