A Penfield NY Senior Portrait Session: Christina, Fairport High School

Fairport High School Senior, Christina is a creative person, who loves being outside. We photographed her Senior pictures on a perfect evening at golden hour in October.

Christina fit into the setting for her senior portraits perfectly. She had a relaxed vibe that makes you feel right at home when you talk with her.

Check out her style! All of her outfits for her senior pictures were thrifted! AND she wanted to take senior pictures with the chickens! She’s a Fairport High School senior after my own heart.

Senior Pictures in Irondequoit NY: Dylan, Class of 2024

Congrats to Dylan, a high school senior at Irondequoit High School, graduating as part of the Class of 2024!

Dylan has a love for reading and creative writing, so a nature background didn’t fit for this high school senior portrait. So what did we do?

We took Dylan’s senior pictures at Irondequoit Public Library - obviously!

It was a great senior portrait session, surrounded by the stacks of books. Dylan’s sense of style, combined with relaxed senior portrait poses really made this portrait session a lot of fun!

Senior Pictures in Penfield NY: Class of 2024, Ryleigh

Ryleigh came to us for her Fairport senior pictures last summer. She was looking for fun senior portraits that felt relaxed. Oh, and she wanted to include her Jeep in them too.

So we headed to Linear Park for some fun nature senior pictures, both in the water, and alongside her Jeep as well. When she’s in school, or working to take care of her Jeep, she’s an avid soccer player.

If you see her, give this Class of 2024 Senior a huge congrats from us!

Senior Pictures in Rochester NY: Aurora, Class of 2024

Brighton High School Senior, Aurora, was so much fun to work with. She loves to be outside, and she loves to sing and dance. Put the two together, and you have a really fun senior portrait session.

We used her grandmother’s backyard garden as the setting for her Senior pictures. There was no shortage of laughter and 50,000 watt smiles.

Congratulations to this amazing Class of 2024 grad!

Brighton NY Senior Pictures: Christopher, Class of 2023

Meet Christopher. Last Fall, we took his senior pictures at Fellows Road Park in Fairport.

He’s got amazing eyes, and an even more amazing personality. Having had some prior experience with having his portrait taken for theatre programs, his senior portrait session was a breeze.

It was also a lot of fun! When he graduates, he wants to go to Forestry school, so we incorporated the parks many pine trees and fall colors. He also plays on a local ultimate frisbee team, so we included that in his senior pictures as well.

But possibly my favorite part of Christopher’s senior pictures included his cat. But he didn’t want just a sweet portrait snuggling his cat. He wanted to wear a suit and tie, and imitate Dr. Evil, from the Austin Powers movies. So we did just that, and then added even more fun to the senior portrait session when he took the cat on a ride on the playground swings.

Why not, right?! It’s ok to have a little fun and add your personality to your senior pictures! In fact, we encourage it!

Senior Pictures in Wayne: Aiden

Aiden is a Wayne High School, Class of 2023 senior.

He's a tennis player and also loves football, whether in real life or playing Madden.

We photographed his senior portrait session in right before the leaves started to drop in November. The yellow in the trees made for an amazing background for his senior pictures.

It was fun to show off the different sides of his personality. We even took a few that included Mom, which is one of our favorite things to do at every senior portrait session.

We’re so glad we were able to fit this session in before his high school’s deadline! Congratulations, Aiden!

Aquinas Senior Pictures: McKenna, Class of 2023

McKenna is a Class of 2023 senior from Aquinas High School. It was great catching up with this family again, we photographed them in 2021 when McKenna’s sister Kylie graduated with the Class of 2022.

She wanted to include all of her passions in her senior pictures, including all of the sports she plays and her dog. The Sunken Gardens in Highland Park became the setting for this session.

Oh, and when we say that McKenna going places, we mean literally, because she also wanted to include her love of mountain biking. Check, check and check to all of the things!

Pittsford Mendon Senior Pictures: Maya Class of 2023

Maya is an upcoming Class of 2023 grad at Pittsford Mendon High School. She’s a softball player and volunteers outside of the classroom.

Her senior pictures in Webster included both the Arboretum and the shoreline at Webster Park. Everything from the sunset light to the flowers was perfect for her golden hour senior portraits.

She’s got a fantastic sense of style, amazing hair, and a gorgeous smile. Also I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jealous of those eyes!

If you see her, congratulate her as she heads off to new adventures after high school!

Brighton NY Senior Pictures: Alex, Class of 2023

He’s the captain of the Brighton High School football team. He loves golfing, lifting weights and hanging with his friends.

Meet Alex, a Class of 2023 high school senior. We’ve worked with his family before, taking his brother Jake’s senior pictures in 2021.

Where Jake wanted wanted to take his senior pictures at Schoen Place in Pittsford, Alex wanted to start his senior portraits in the city at Cobbs Hill. What was the same for both of them, were senior portraits in Brighton, on the football field.

It was wonderful to see this amazing family again, and create another great set of senior pictures for Alex. Congrats to this Class of 2023 grad!

Tips for Senior Pictures: Fairport NY Senior Portraits

2014-07-07_00031.jpg

Senior pictures for the Class of 2024 are underway! So we thought it might help to share few tips for some great senior pictures in the Rochester NY area.

After all, these senior portraits will live on the pages of the high school yearbook and on your walls for years to come. The experience you have should be fun, memorable and unique! So here's a few tips to get you thinking...

1) Clothing

Do your best to avoid clothing with words, stripes and plaids. Solid colors tend to photograph much better, especially in a busy background like a park or among colorful flowers. Make sure you're comfortable in your choices, and that they are flattering to you. If there's a part of you that you're self-conscious about, like your arms - simple solution, wear sleeves! Be comfortable in your clothes, so that it shows in your photographs! Also, keep your jewelry simple so it doesn't distract from what we're really capturing - you!

If you have questions on what to wear, bring a variety of options - from dressy to casual! We can help you pick the right outfit for the right setting.

2) Makeup

Don't feel like this is an opportunity to layer on makeup. We want a natural you in your high school senior pictures, not someone that no one will recognize! Your makeup should only be slightly heavier than usual. And please...don't use sparkles, they only make you look shiny in all the wrong places. Don't worry too much about blemishes either, we have ways to help diminish those!

3) Shaving

Unless you're into a bearded look, shave prior to the session to avoid unwanted stubble. If your face gets irritated easily, leave enough time for it to return to normal before your senior pictures.

4) Props, pets and activities

Here's the fun part. What is it that makes you, you? Do you have a cat, dog or pet iguana to include in your senior portraits? We're game, just make sure you bring treats for motivation, and someone to keep watch over Fluffy the Lizard while he's not in the photographs.

We encourage you to bring items that reveal your personality and hobbies. For example, an instrument, sporting equipment, vehicle, collectible, or whatever it is you enjoy!

Family Pictures with High School Seniors: Fairport NY Photographers

Bella’s senior portrait session wouldn’t have been the same without including the rest of the family: Mom and Zada, their Italian Mastiff.

Part two of her Senior Pictures took place at the hidden gem that is Corbett’s Glen. (If you missed part one, find it here.)

It was clear to see the special bond these two beautiful ladies share, and I was honored to capture a little family portrait for them.

Say ‘hey’ to Stephanie and Bella!

Cheers!

Victor High School Senior Pictures: Class of 2022, Ben

Senior pictures in late fall… is it everyone’s favorite season in upstate NY? I know it’s not just me!

For this Victor High School Senior (and baseball player), it was like magic. First, we took some casual senior portraits of Ben along the water and trail, followed by some pictures in action on the diamond.

I love to photograph athletes. The goal is to create senior pictures that feel natural, so we go where the subject feels comfortable, and Ben was definitely at home on the baseball field.

Thanks for letting me capture this moment for you, and congratulations! -Lori
