One of our summer candid family mini sessions in Pittsford NY took place in a flower field of beautiful black-eyed susans. The summer was dry this season, and by the time our family portraits rolled around, most of the flowers had unfortunately died off. However, we found a small patch of remaining blooms, and it was all we needed for some family pictures in flowers.

That one area of yellow flowers was perfect for our adorable families. Even though there were fewer flowers in the field than we’d hoped for, these family photographs felt happy and full of life. As a duo of family photographers, we wanted our focus to be on the connection within the family, and not as much on the actual setting anyways!
